Stop loss not triggered on MCX - what to do?

Yesterday I had put stop loss at ₹73,800 in gold futures but prices fell to ₹73,750 and my stop loss was not triggered. Later prices bounced back and I squared off position manually. Why stop loss orders dont work properly on MCX? This is very frustrating.

Stop loss orders on MCX are stop loss market orders which means when your stop price is hit, a market order is placed. But in fast moving market there may not be buyers/sellers at that exact price so your order gets executed at next available price. Also check if you placed stop loss correctly - in sell position you need SL buy order and vice versa. Many beginners make this mistake.

Also possible that during volatile seconds, bid/ask spread widens and price may not have actually traded at your stop loss level even though chart shows that price. Always put screenshots and check with your broker if you feel there was error in order execution. Sometimes there are genuine technical glitches also which broker will compensate.
