Leading shareholders include Radhakrishnan Damani, Nemish S Shah, State Bank Of India, Union Bank Of India, Multi Commodity Exchange, and IL&FS financial services. Damani continues to hold 0.89% stake. Banks and FIIs hold 23.64% which includes SBI, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank. Corporate bodies hold around 29.94% and individual investors around 40.47%.

Also important update - MSEI announced plan to raise ₹240 crore through private placement from Billionbrains Garage Ventures (Groww), Rainmatter Investments (Zerodha), Securicorp Securities, and Share India Securities. This will change shareholding pattern significantly. Corporate bodies stake will rise from 15.49% to 27.29% while public ownership will decrease from 58.96% to 47.27%.
